Freedom of Desires

Wanting some things isn't the problem. It never was. The problem is, the pause; what shows up while waiting? David, the giant-killer, lived that pause three times, as a shepherd, as a fugitive, as a king. He got it right in the first two and catastrophically wrong in the last. What is desire? Oh, it’s a powerful emotion, but it may not always be the villain in our story. Even the Apostle Paul admitted he never fully figured out how to resolve that gap between wanting good and doing it.
