YA Collective is for Young Adults who want more. Maybe you’ve aged out of youth group, maybe you’re trying to take your faith seriously for the first time, or maybe you’re still figuring out what you believe and don’t want to do that alone.
However you got here, you belong here.

This is a place where questions are welcome, honest conversations are encouraged (within healthy boundaries), and nobody is expected to have it all together. Our goal is simple: to get to know Jesus for who He really is, learn how to follow Him in everyday life, dive into the Bible, and build real relationships with people who are on the same journey. Let’s clear the air—this isn’t a cult, we’re not after your money, and we’re definitely not a pyramid scheme. We can’t promise quick fixes, instant answers, or a perfect life. What we can offer is Jesus Christ and a space to genuinely explore who He is, why we believe what we believe, and why we believe He’s the answer for a broken world. If you’re willing to show up, ask questions, and be open, we’re ready to walk this journey with you.

Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools – Chapter 4
Search Me and Know Me (Confession)

📖 Key Theme
Confession is not about shame—it is about honesty. God already knows us completely, and prayer becomes transformative when we stop hiding and allow Him to search our hearts.
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” — Psalm 139:23

🎉 Icebreaker (Start Here/ Think about This)
What is something small you lost recently that took way too long to find?
Follow-up:
  • Where did it end up being?
  • Were you looking in the wrong places the whole time?

🌿 Big Idea
Confession is not God discovering something new about us—it is us agreeing with God about what is already true. Healing begins where honesty begins.

🔥 Core Takeaways
1. God already knows everything about us
Nothing in our lives is hidden from Him. Confession is not informing God—it is inviting Him into the places we usually protect or avoid.

2. Conviction leads to freedom, not condemnation
The Holy Spirit reveals sin and brokenness to heal us, not humiliate us. God confronts what destroys us because He loves us.

3. We cannot heal what we continue to hide
Silence and secrecy keep us stuck. Bringing things into the light breaks the power of shame.

4. Confession restores intimacy
Confession is relational, not transactional. It reconnects us to God with honesty and dependence instead of pretending.

💬 Life Group Questions (Ask yourself)
  1. When you hear the word “confession,” what comes to mind first?
  2. Why do you think honesty with God can sometimes feel difficult?
  3. What is the difference between conviction and shame?
  4. Are there areas of your life where you tend to hide instead of invite God in?
  5. How does knowing God already fully knows you change the way you approach prayer?
  6. What would it look like to practice regular confession in a healthy way?

🪞 Practice for the Week
Set aside 5–10 minutes each day to pray Psalm 139:23–24 slowly:
“Search me, God, and know my heart…”
Ask God honestly:
  • What am I avoiding?
  • What needs healing?
  • Where do I need repentance or surrender?
Write down anything that comes to mind and bring it to God without defensiveness.
🕯️ Closing Thought
God is not waiting for you to become perfect before coming close. He already knows you completely—and still invites you near. Confession is where hiding ends and freedom begins.
