NOT THAT KIND OF CHRISTIAN: Mature Believer

Jan 25, 2026    Pastor Glenn Garvin

What we think a mature believer looks like, and what a mature believer actually is, might shock even the most churchified person. Maturity is usually subtle. It’s being deep without drama!

Mature believers aren’t loud, flashy, or flawless. They consistently and thoroughly trust Jesus, obey quickly, and carry a steady, quiet strength that looks a lot like Him. They honor God when no one’s watching, treating people well when it costs them. They keep showing up with love, humility, and courage.

No offense, or dishonor to the office, but spiritual maturity probably looks more like Mr. Rogers than it does the Pope.

This Sunday, let’s talk about the kind of maturity Jesus is forming in us—and how to keep growing towards it.
