The followers of the Way had to process chaos, grief then supernatural celebration of the resurrection. Forty days later, Jesus left the planet. John records this “going away” pep talk well before Palm Sunday, Passion Week or His death. They didn’t get it, but they would later. How many times did Jesus tell them something they would NOT understand until later? Plenty of times!

What is often missed is the critical moment that Jesus tells them, someone else is coming… and they were going to love him! Who was coming and what does it all mean?
